More great Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem footage
More great footage of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem from Pete Seeger’s Rainbow Quest program. Tommy Makem sings, lilts, and dances his way through ‘Little Beggerman’. The tune is identical to the fiddle tune ‘Red Haired Boy’, though the structure differs slightly: ABB rather than the conventional AABB fiddle tune form.

Amateur Footage of The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem?
Dear all fans of The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem,
In 2006 we made a 2 part TV version of a film called “The Legend of Liam Clancy” for Irish television which won best documentary series this year in the IFTAS (Irish awards). We are now making a feature version, which will be later available on DVD, with lots of exciting clips and extras.
Tommy Makem did a wonderful interview in this in the summer of 2005, and we have some great clips from Liam’s archive of Tommy and Liam together in Canada. The film contains rare unseen footage of the band, and also
I would like to put it out there to all fans, that we were still looking for footage. If anybody has old cine footage of the band, especially from circa 1960s or so, we would be delighted to hear from you. Perhaps you have old reels somewhere in your attic which you never telecined. We would be happy to do this for you and to negotiate access to your footage. We’d be very grateful of any assistance. One of the aims of a definitive documentary of this nature is to gather together any material that is out there, especially if it hasn’t yet been seen or published.
Likewise, we would be interested in any photographs or clippings you might have from the early days of the band.
