This is a pretty incredible display of what can be done with a mandolin by Dave Appolon, who Jethro Burns called the Reigning Master of the Mandolin. Victor Borge is on piano.

The tune, Hora Staccato (1906) is “a virtuoso violin showpiece by Grigoraş Dinicu, who wrote it for his graduation in 1906 from the Bucharest Conservatory, and performed it at the ceremony” (according to Mexmando on Youtube).
