Here’s another great slice of vintage Americana courtesy of Archive.org. There are a lot of different flavors of this song, from Charlie Poole’s ‘Take a Drink on Me’, which Tangleweed has been known to play from time to time, to the rather bizarrely titled ‘Croquet Habit’ that Freeny’s Barn Dance band recorded. One would be hard pressed to find a better rendition than this 1930 recording by the Memphis Jug Band.
