The Skillet Lickers singing Pass Around the Bottle

The Skillet Lickers were Georgia’s finest stringband, combining the stellar guitar playing and singing of Riley Puckett with the heterophonic fiddling frenzy of Clayton McMichen, Lowe Stokes, and Gid Tanner. This is from their first recording session (with Bert Layne rather than Stokes possibly playing a third fiddle). Recorded in Atlanta on April 17, 1926 for Columbia records.
