Tangleweed to play WAKARUSA Festival

By Scott. Filed under: GigBlog, TweedBlog.

Wakarusa

We are very pleased to announce that we will be playing two sets on two different stages at this year’s Wakarusa Festival in Lawrence, Kansas on Sunday, June 10.

Wakarusa runs all weekend. We’ll be playing in Green Bay at The Heritage Farm Fest on Fri/Sat, then shooting down to Lawrence for the Sunday sets at Wakarusa. Should be quite a weekend.

This is without a doubt the largest, most diverse festival lineup we’ve ever been invited to play, featuring names like Sam Bush, Les Claypool, Little Feat, Tom Morello and Medeski, Martin and Wood. Rest assured Tangleweed will focus our rage against the machine in the most blue and lonesome ways imaginable.

We will perform on the BEACH and HOMEGROWN stages on Sunday afternoon (watch the SHOWS page for exact details as they come clear).

Thanks to the good folks at Wakarusa for the support and we’ll see you in Lawrence!

Oh, and for those of you wondering, the term Wakarusa is a Native American phrase meaning “ass deep”, which is about how deep the Wakarusa river is.
