Please support Uncle Earl

Kristin from Uncle Earl Kristin Andreassen (of the stringband Uncle Earl) needs your vote for Children’s Song of the Year in the John Lennon Song Contest.

Her song “Crayola Doesn’t Make a Color for Your Eyes” (which some of you remember from the g’Earls’ show on March 3rd) is up against one other song in the finals of the contest.

This is a prestigious contest with big prizes ($5,000 and a chance to compete for the $20,000 grand prize!).

The winner is decided by on-line vote at http://www.jlsc.com/vote

You can vote once per day until April 6th, so vote early and often!

You can listen to the song there or on Kristin’s myspace at
http://www.myspace.com/kristinandreassen

I saw Kristin and the band perform this song the day she found out she’d advanced to the next round, and it was quite impressive, esp. the steady group handclap accompaniment during the lyrics. Definitely not for kids only, this one. Check it out.

  3. Hi there people,

My wife took me to see the g’earls in London about a year ago. I want to teach my 180 children (I’m a teacher) to sing crayola but I can’t get Kristin’s album over hear in sunny England. NOpe, it isn’t on amazon if that’s what you were just going to ask,. And, nope, I can’t use the U.S. amazon because then I’d need a U.S. account. Anyone got a clever idea as I only heard the song the once and I’d be wanting to hear it a few times to cobble some chords together. Also, nope, can’t use myspace as my school network blocks it. LOadsa love, Ed Finch
