Where You Been So Long? on the FAR charts

By Kenneth Rainey. Filed under: News, TweedBlog.

Thanks to all of our friends in radioland, Tangleweed’s new CD Where You Been So Long? has made it onto the freeform American roots chart compiled by 3rd Coast Music Magazine. Special thanks to Gerd Stassen, who made our record his record of the month for October.

Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee singing Easy Rider

I’m guessing, by the presence of a slender gentleman holding a long-neck Vega banjo, that this comes from Pete Seeger’s Rainbow Quest television show. The duo made some great recordings, dozens of which have been reissued on CD. Sonny Terry also recorded a record of jawharp music for Folkways, samples of which are available on the Folkways sitee. The unintentionally hilarious liner notes for the Folkways EP Sonny Terry’s Washboard Band were the insipration for the liner notes included in our first record.
