This is the only film footage I’ve ever seen of Jimmie Rodgers, arguably the single most important performer in the history of country music. It comes from a 1929 short called ‘Waiting for a Train’. The film is reproduced in its entirity on a video Yazoo records released called Times Ain’t Like They Used to Be.
