Cultural Center Gig
We played a 15 minute set at the Chicago Cultural Center today, as part of SPOTLIGHT CHICAGO, an annual conference put on by the Chicago Tourism Board (with musical entertainment provided by our friends at Old Town School of Folk Music - thanks to Eric for hiring Tangleweed!).
The room we played was quite fantastic, as you might imagine if you’ve ever visited this building. Here’s a shot of it.
For those keeping score at home, we played a quick breakfast set as follows: Draggin’ The Bow, Train 45, Where You Been?, Hard Times, High on a Mountain and Orange Blossom Special.
The audience was comprised of various promoters, bookers, talent buyers, event planners, and other key cogs in the Chicago Tourism Wheel, which we learned today pumps about $10 BILLION into the local economy every year. Tangleweed is proud to have been a small part of that huge program this year, and we were happy to help the fine folks at the conference wake up and prepare for their days today.
And best of all, at least a couple of us were able to walk straight to work afterwards, which is a rare convenience in the world of urban bluegrass giggery.

I understand that the Cultural Center has 2 tiffany domes. Are they both the same color ( what color ? ) or are they different colors ? Thank you !
