To expand a bit on Scott’s post, Sunday was indeed a very good day for us. The show at the Folk and Roots fest was a blast. The Old Town organizers and volunteers were fantastic. We had towel service onstage and a masseuse backstage. Very nice.
We had to head across town shortly after our set for another show at the Irish American Heritage Center. When we arrived, there were five bottles of Michael Collins whiskey waiting for us on stage. Much appreciated. The staff were kind as always, and our sound engineers did a good job holding things together.
Many thanks to all the folks who helped make it happen.
The flurry of activity continues - Redline Tap with Dimestore and REO Chuckwagon on Friday, then our biggest audience ever at sunny Folk and Roots, followed by a bar set at Irish American Heritage Festival on Sunday. Thanks to all who were in attendance and perhaps bought (or caught!) a cd or urged us to keep doing what we’re doing. Here’s a shot of us at Folk and Roots on Sunday. Thanks to Danny for the snap.

We had a great time with the REO Chuckwagon folks at the Red Line Tap last night. They’re a talented bunch who have just released their first CD, Reinventing the Wheel. Scott and I jammed with them past last call until the Red Line shut its doors for the evening. Good players, all.
If you haven’t seen REO Chuckwagon, they hold court at the Edgewater Lounge in Chicago every Tuesday night. We’ll try to hook up with them again sometime soon.
As of today, you can purchase a copy of our new CD from Amazon.com. You can, of course, still listen to samples and purchase a copy directly from us if you like. It’s good to have options.
If you have a copy Where You Been So Long?, please take a moment to write a review of it on Amazon.com.
Our brand-new CD, Where You Been So Long?, is now available through our website. You can listen to samples of each song and then submit a secure online order via Pay Pal. The response from the folks who got advance copies has been overwhelmingly positive. We think you’ll like it too.
Many thanks to everyone who came out to see us at Taste of Chicago yesterday. It was the culmination of what has been a memorable week for us. We started out playing a Louvin Brothers tribute with Ed Burch at the Hideout Sunday, and followed that up with a nooner at Daley Plaza Monday that was covered by several Chicago TV stations. On Wednesday, we got the shipment of our new CD and had a great time playing on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight. Thursday, we played a cozy set at Pint, and we finished our week up playing at the Midwest’s largest country music festival Saturday. Our gratitude to all the folks who helped make it happen, especially to the folks at the Mayor’s Office of Special Events.
