Thanks to WTTW and Erin Bauer / Mayor’s Office of Special Events

By Scott. Filed under: TweedBlog.

Big Tangleweed thanks go out to WTTW and Erin Bauer from the Mayor’s Office of Special Events for inviting us to play two songs live on Channel 11 last night, as part of their Chicago Country Fest promo piece.  We had a great time, and are very much looking forward to playing the big festival this weekend.

Phil Ponce and the entire WTTW gang were a pleasure to work with, and the crew even hit us with a musical joke:

What’s the difference between a Viola and a Violin?   A Viola burns longer.

They say VICTOR BORGE told them that one.   Nice.

After getting some kind props from Phil and Erin, we played DRAGGIN’ THE BOW and HARD TIMES off our brand new record.  We went banjo-less, as Mr. Fisher had prior commitments and the station had some space constraints, so Ryan took one for the team this time ’round.

Thanks again to everyone at WTTW and the Mayor’s Office for the support.  We’ll see you all at the IL LOTTERY TASTE STAGE at Noon on Saturday in Grant Park.
