Tangleweed honored with encased meat
The Chicago-based musical group Tangleweed is slated to receive an honor never before bestowed on a bluegrass band. They will be the celebrity sausage Saturday, May 6th, at the world-renowned hot dog stand Hot Doug’s.
Hot Doug’s, the self-described “encased meat emporium”, offers an exotic specialty sausage to its customers each day. The specials are named in honor of local, national, and international celebrities.
The band are delighted to be sausages for a day. Bassist Paul Wargaski said, “What an honor it will be to see our name spelled out in refrigerator magnets. I never thought the day would come for us to really be up on that board.” There is one band member, however, who will be unable to partake in the eponymous sausage. Mandolinist Kenneth Rainey notes that he has been a vegetarian for over twenty years, but says the vegetarian hot dog at Hot Doug’s is “outstanding, even for non-vegetarians.”
