This weekend’s shows
Tangleweed is playing a smoke-free show tonight (Friday, February 3) at the Charleston in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood. The Charleston is the first bar in the city to go smoke-free. It’s the kind of cozy neighborhood watering hole that Chicago doesn’t have enough of anymore, and, now that it’s smoke-free, you can have a few drinks and not come home smelling like an ashtray. http://www.charlestonchicago.com
Saturday night we’re making a rare South-Side appearance, only our second ever, when we play a music and movies event at the South Union Arts Center. Doors open at eight, with music following shortly thereafter. Our set will be followed with the first screening of a new indie rock documentary. Details follow.
LET’S BE ACTIVE: KEEP THE FUZZ OFF MY BUZZ (THE PREMIER SHOWING)
a film documentingthe midwest tour of the same name completed in May of 2004. The tour consists of ft (the Shadow government), featuring members of Ten Grand, Murder By Death, Head of Femur and Forstella Ford, Paradise Island (Jenny from Erase Errata) and William Elliott Whitmore. All shows on the tour were hosted by Let’s Be Active’s founder and mouthpiece, Jarrett Hilarious. Dallas Hallam, of King Power Cinema, shot and edited the film in a striking and interesting manner. Showing audiences the ins and outs of 8 days on the road with this ensamble. The film also features appearances by The Plastic Constellations, some obnoxious drunk republicans in Omaha and a push-up contest. “Let’s Be Active Presents: Keep the Fuzz off my Buzz” will educate, entertain and show you the way.
