New live tracks available

While we work to finish up our fine, fine debut studio recording, we’ve uploaded some new live tracks to the site to tide folks over for the holidays.

We recorded a set at Martyr’s last week, which is available as part of the homegrown series from Twangoff Records. We’ve posted two free samples on our Music page for you folks.

Our Uncommon Ground debut

By Kenneth Rainey. Filed under: GigBlog, TweedBlog.

Among the many cool things coming up in the new year is our debut at Chicago’s premier acoustic music venue, Uncommon Ground. We’re scheduled to play Friday, February 18th at 8pm.

This will likely be our only all-ages show for a while, so if you’re under 21 or want to bring someone who is, this is your chance. Another bonus? Uncommon Ground is a 100% no-smoking venue.

Uncommon Ground is not a very large space, and a lot of events there sell out. The best way to ensure that you’ll have a seat is to make dinner reservations in advance. You can make them by calling Uncommon Ground @ 773.929.3680.

More details to come.

A technophobe starts blogging

By Paul. Filed under: TweedBlog.

The world of blogging is totally new for me. In addition to being the bass player, I’m also a violin maker. A very cool job but our last technical revolution occured 300 years ago.

I’m looking forward to playing at Martyrs’ Thursday night. Martyrs’ is a great sounding room. and we have an awesome set lined up for Ya’ll.

clappin’ hootin’and hollerin’
will all be appreciated.

Red Line Tap

By Kenneth Rainey. Filed under: GigBlog, TweedBlog.

A quick note of thanks to all the good folks at the Red Line Tap. We’ve played a lot of shows in our short time together, but I can’t recall playing for a warmer, more entusiastic audience.

We were genuinely moved by the standing ovation at the end of our set. To all the staff at the Red Line, the other bands, and all the folks who came out on that cold Saturday night, thank you.
